BIG BOY – 1 YEAR

September 14th, 2009

Mr. M has recently celebrated his great big first birthday. I got together with Mr. M and his parents at their gorgeous home for some casual lifestyle portraits. If I could describe my style I would say it’s story-telling photojournalism with relaxed portraiture mixed. I got to be a part of Mr. M’s morning, while he played, read books and enjoyed his front yard.

You can’t pose a toddler, you can’t fake emotions with them and you can’t force them to do anything…unless you want to unleash toddler fury. The best way to capture toddlers and kids of any age is to let them be. Let them play in an environment they’re comfortable in (a park, their home, etc.) and let them be. Mr. M’s parents let him do just this and he was as happy as can be.
Meet Mr. M….

Mr. M is just BEAUTIFUL! (And I’m not just saying that because he’s my adorable little nephew!) You captured their family perfectly in the black & white portrait. And of course, who doesn’t love Mr. M reading along with Momma!
