First let me apologize for being absent and neglecting my poor blog and my fans who were waiting and anticipating a winner for this giveaway.  I unfortunately came down with a nasty cold on Christmas Eve and I’ve been out of commission, picking up my computer maybe 3 times since.  I’m so sorry for the delay! Without further ado…

I thoroughly enjoy doing this giveaway and I am so thankful for the time and energy put into each of the entries this year.  It fills me with unimaginable joy to see others appreciating their blessings and giving to others.  That is, after all, exactly what this giveaway is all about.

I received the winning entry from Missy L. who nominated her friends Darleen and Jeff.  Darleen and Jeff are the epitome of what I’m hoping to see when I do this giveaway.  They open their hearts and their home and give love, care and support to others in need.  They are an incredible blessing to others and I am so excited to get together with them and capture their big beautiful family.

When I was a kid my mom had these little books with our cheesy little school pictures inserted into the appropriate grade, they were called “School Days” books (do they even still make them?).  I’m going to spare myself the embarrassment and not show off any of my school pictures, instead I’m going to give you a chance to show off your cute kiddos going back to school.

So, pull out those digital cameras over the next few weeks as your kids don their new clothes, jump on the bus, run into their preschool/daycare and hug their teachers, drive themselves to school for the first time, etc.  Catch those “school days” and you could win a free fall mini-session and a $200 print credit!

Email all entries to info@kdloftisphotography.com.  All submitted images will be placed in an online gallery on Facebook and the image with the most likes at the end of the contest will receive the free session and print credit.  So, rally your friends and cheer on your picture to win the mini-session!

There are a few rules:

* The winner must complete their mini-session on one of two fall mini-session dates.

* The prize is not redeemable for cash, but can be transferred to a friend or family member… I’m all about gift giving!

* Anyone can participate, you do not need to be a past client of mine to participate

* To be able to vote your friends and family must “like” k|d loftis photography on Facebook and “like” your picture

*All entries will be posted to the gallery within 24 hours of submission.  The sooner you get it in the longer you have to get “likes” (votes).  The contest will end at midnight on September 4 and the winner will be announced on Labor Day.

It’s the holiday season, a time for thanksgiving and for giving unto others.  To celebrate this wonderful time of year I’ve decided to give thanks and give.

This holiday season I’m giving one family a complimentary custom portrait session, a $250 print credit and their images on a disc to ensure that the winning family can enjoy their images for years to come.  That’s not all!  If your submission is chosen then YOU will receive a complimentary portrait session and a $100 print credit.

It’s time for YOU to send in your nominations.  Nominate a friend or a family who deserves the gift of custom photography this holiday season, someone who is facing hard times in their life or someone who gives selflessly to others without expecting something in return.  Tell me their story and why they deserve this gift. * The session must take place between January 1, 2011 and June 1, 2011.

The winning entry will NOT be shared on my site, but I retain the right to share parts of the winner’s story.  I will review all of the entries and select the winning family (with the help of my own family) on Christmas Day. The winning family does NOT need to know who nominated them unless you want them to know.

The announcement of the winner will come the evening of Christmas Day.

So, it’s the beginning of January and I thought what better way to celebrate the new year than to kick it off with a contest!

I know many of you spent countless hours picking out the perfect outfit for Santa pictures, then you stood in line for what seemed like an eternity only to have your sweet little one throw a red in the face, tears on the cheeks screamfest on Santa’s lap.

So…since those images didn’t turn out as planned so how about submitting your funniest “santa tantrum” image in hopes of winning a complimentary custom portrait session and a $40 print credit with k|d loftis photography.

We’ll take submissions until midnight on Thursday, January 15 so tell your family and friends about it and encourage them to send their funniest “santa tantrum” picture to santatantrum@kdloftisphotography.com (please put “Santa Tantrum” in the subject).

And yes, the images need to be from Christmas 2008…so don’t submit pictures of yourself wearing polyester plaid pants and an orange and green striped shirt circa 1979 and try to pass it off as your kiddo.
