GRATEFUL | HOUSTON FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

December 7th, 2011

I love the movie Love Actually.  The end of the movie is my favorite part.  All of the people coming and going, hugging, kissing and the look of sheer joy on their faces at the arrival of their loved ones.

This past Saturday I got to share in one of the most exciting and intimate moments a family can share, a homecoming.  Eric is currently serving in Afghanistan and he’s home on 15 days of leave.  This is a very exciting time for them as they’re celebrating the holidays, celebrating their daughter’s first birthday and they’re getting married.  I adore the look on Eric’s face upon seeing his baby girl for the first time in many months.

I am so thankful to be a part of their celebrations and so grateful for Eric’s service and for the service and sacrifice of all military personnel and their families.  God bless you and Merry Christmas!

CHRISTINE + KEVIN’S TRASH THE DRESS | PLAYA DEL CARMEN, MEXICO

July 4th, 2011

We got together with Christine and Kevin the day after their gorgeous wedding for a trash the dress session.  We visited a nearby abandoned mansion, we jumped (and rolled) in the ocean and took a dip in the very chilly (read: not heated) pool.

I don’t think I’ve ever had that much fun during a session, nor have I ever gotten that dirty during a portrait session.  Lots of sand, sun and surf and the icing on the cake was finishing our evening with a drink at the pool’s swim up bar.

Amazingly all of the dirt and sand that gathered in Christine’s dress washed away in the outside shower/pool.  They hung it on the balcony to dry over night and it looked brand new in the morning… so much for trashing her dress.  I guess we’ll just have to try again!

Enjoy!

CHRISTINE + KEVIN | SECRETS MAROMA BEACH DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

July 4th, 2011

It just struck me that I never fully blogged Christine + Kevin’s gorgeous Playa del Carmen, Mexico wedding. I am quite behind on blogging due to capturing and editing weddings, sessions and some business and personal travel, but I am going to do my best to get back on track and play some catch up.

Every single time I look at these images I daydream about going back to Mexico and I call, email or text Dustin to ask (beg) him to pretty please take me back.  If you’re looking for a Mexican destination I cannot recommend Secrets Maroma Beach enough.  If you decide to go, will you pretty please take me with you?

We had such a great time with Christine, Kevin and all of their fabulous friends and family.  Enjoy!
